Description

On typed listing "34.11; Chibele's Village; Chama; home made guitar; 19.7.60; Zambia; Eastern; Chama district; music; guitar; instrument; Chibele village; entertainment; present."

Local boy, possibly Chibele?, with a home-made six stringed guitar made from a wooden frame and neck, and leather strung across with a cut out soundhole. The strings could be catgut, likely made of animal intestine and are of varying thickness. Some of the strings, notably the thickest three, looks like they could be made of metal. [FG 17/04/25]
