N.B. 'Sambo' in Hausa can be translated into English as second son. There are also records of people named 'Gidan' in Katsina provice where this photo was taken by Hill. It therefore seems likely that this is a part of the 'big house' given to the second son of Gidan. [LB 31/07/2024]
