Description

A stone monument standing in the courtyard of a compound, with a thatched building in the background. The monument has a plinth on which a statue of a man in a pith helmet is standing. His hands are resting on his hips, with his elbows out. His legs rise out from the stone base of the statue. Two jugs are placed on the ledge of the base, and a staff is fixed to the side. On the figure is written the text '1955 Ugboko Ekwok' and on the base 'Made 1955 Dead 1954 Ugboko Ekwok'. On each side stands a cross painted with geometric lines. On the cross on the right the text 'Ujjo Ekwok' is written, on the cross on the left 'Eba Ekwok who died in 1949'. [PB 21/11/2024]
