Description
Ogbukere Play with the masquerade character Asele (Beloved daughter mask) dancing. The mask consists of a wooden horizontal base that is abstract and displays various geometric shapes and protrusions. The mask hood has white ribbon crosses over the eyes. The masquerader has a frond of cotton ribbons around his neck over his gown, and wide leggings with embroidered chevrons. Spectators and dancers are in the background, female to the masquerader's right and male to his left. [PB 28/11/23]
