Description

A documentary photograph an unfinished mask of Ngbila an Owu water spirit to be worn in an Owu masquerade. The wooden head mask is tall, with a broad central collar of chequered design on a wide neck, above which the face is elongated with large pointed ears. The face has a stud crest on the top of the head, prominent eyelids, a long harrow nose and a straight rectangular mouth with teeth. [PB 24/11/23]
