A portrait of an Ibibio elder. He is sitting in a metal chair outside a single storey thatched building. He is wearing a white tufted cap, spectacles, a pale blue loose-fitting embroidered overshirt, a scarf, loose trousers with a black and white geometric pattern, and white tennis shoes. In his right hand he is holding a long staff with a gold finial and prayer beads, in his left hand he is holding a rolled up scroll of paper. [PB 24/11/23]
