Description

A documentation photograph of an Ugbom headdress in profile placed on a mat. The female figure is standing with bent knees and is without arms.The face of the figure is stylised and shows a high protruding forehead with keolid markings in the centre, slit eyes, rounded nose, and protruding lips and chin; projecting well beyond the nose and upper part of the face. She has a thick neck, and two large pointed breasts with large round nipples, a protruding umbilicus, and squat thick thighs and legs. There are scarification marks on her lower back. The figure is placed on a rounded base which is narrowed into a cylindrical projection. In the background is a concrete wall. [Description from record N.72062.GIJ, PB 29/09/2023]
