Description

A portrait of one of the Obugulu Mau masqueraders walking towards the performance. His character is 'mother'. He is wearing an elaborate headdress consisting of colourful felt, string and tassels. The mask is painted white with black markings around the eyes, nose, mouth and accentuating the eyebrows and cheeks and attached to a harlequin-like costume. In the background are spectators and trees. [PB 25/08/2023]
