Description

An Ekpe (Ibo) Janus head carved in a stylised angular mode and in the Delta style. The facial features consist of slit-like eyelids, pointed nose, rectangular boxed mouth with teeth, and the lower jaw is framed with a conventionalised beard and lines of keloids are represented vertically on the forehead and on each temple and diagonally across each cheek. The top of the head has raised squares and rectangular markings. The head has a wooden base with holes. The sculpture is placed on a woven cloth and there is a slatted wooden wall in the background.
