A documentation photograph of a carved wooden tortoise with head extended and scales painted light and dark. [PB 24/08/2023]

The figure is now in the care of MAA, reference Z 24867, and described as: "Wooden carved headdress shaped like a tortoise. The whole is carved from a single piece of wood and the tortoise has a head with brass tack eyes, tail and feet. The shell is carved and painted in a chequer-board effect, with green recessed squares and black and white raised ones." [Description from object record Z 24867, PB 07/09/2023]
