Description
A close up view of Mgbedike masquerade. The masquerader is wearing an elaborate headdress carved of horns, figures, animals, with a fierce face with pronounced sharp teeth. On top of the top of the headdress is a man with a white face riding a horse? The mask is covered with palm fronds, omu, and the masquerader is holding an object (machete? or knife?) in one hand. The costume is made of cloth, palm fronds, shells, seeds and porcupine quills jutting out around the neck. In the background are trees, bystanders, and houses.
