Description

An Ekpe (Egbo) masquerader in a tight fitting netted costume. The costume is made of netting that is stitched with a patterned geometric designs. Around the neck is a thick netted garland. The masquerader is dancing, holding a stick in one hand. He is wearing a knitted hat covering his face and head, with a knitted tail. The image is made just as the dancer twirls the tail around his head. A group of spectators stand behind the masquerader; some are wearing white t-shirts and plaid wrappers. The man to the right is holding out his hand to the masquerader. The image is made from a lower piece of ground so that the people appear to be on raised ground. A building is in the background.
