Description
The interior of an Obu meeting house in Asaga village showing four large life-sized figures. The figures are standing on a raised platform with their legs slightly bent at the knees. Each is dressed in a striped cotton waist cloth. Each figure is different; the closest on the left of the image is a woman, decorated with necklet and leg rings, with body and face painted dark on one side and light on the other, and with a raised conical headdress. Next to her is a man with a dark torso, with a bandolier and brimmed hat, holding a rifle in left hand. The next figure is a woman decorated with leg rings, with body and face painted dark and with a raised conical headdress. The figure on the right of the image is shorter, with dark body and face and eyes picked out in white paint. The figure as a conical hat and is holding a staff in right hand. [PB 28/07/23]
