Description

The interior of an Obu House with the close up view of a large wooden sculpture. The face of the sculpture consists of a humanised figure with carved arched eyebrows, elliptical shaped eyes, string nose, lips and curved ears, around the neck is a deeply incised circular base. On top of the head is a defined hairline with two linear projections with rounded tops painted with white dots in front of a rectangular base. The top is rounded and curved with thickly incised markings. Behind the sculpture is a block wall. [Description from record N.71855.GIJ, PB 28/07/2023]
