Description
An Ibo akweke textile. The wrapper is made from two strips of weft-faced weaving sewn together. Threads of white, yellow, red, black, brown and blue are used to create stripes of colour with broader bands of geometric shapes, including lozenges and rectangles. The predominant ground colour is red. The fringe is made from the warp threads. [PB 20/07/23]
