Description

An Ibo akweke wrapper. The wrapper is made from two strips of weft-faced plain weave sewn together. Threads of white, yellow, red, black, brown and blue are used to create horizontal stripes of colour with broader bands of geometric shapes, some of which resemble animals. The predominant background colour is white. The fringe is made from the warp threads. [PB 20/07/23]
