Description

A clay sculpture of a leopard in an Mbari house. The leopard is standing by the carved body of its prey - a goat - and appears to be eating its flesh, with pieces of meat are protruding from the leopard's mouth. In the foreground to the right are part of arm, leg and the body of a carved figure sitting next to the prey. The arm and body are decorated with stripes in a herringbone pattern. The sculptures are in the interior of a room with walls painted with a geometric design featuring lozenge shapes of different shades, some enclosing circles. [PB 15/12/2022]
