Description
An Alusi tutelary and fertility female mud figure. The figure has a limbless body with a broad basin-like front. A line of scarification marks within border lines runs from head to base. legs, and arms resting on the body. Her head has defined eyes, nose and mouth. The eyes are detailed with shell insets. In the background there are several other mud figures on the smooth mud of the hollow in which the shrine is located. [PB 11/05/2023]
