The Journal of the Royal Anthropological Institute of Great Britain and Ireland 61 (1931): 239–76. On p.240 Armstrong notes "A superficial examination was also made of Nswatugi Cave and trial sections dug in three hitherto unknown caves located within a radius of six miles of Bambata by the aid of natives, but through lack of staff and the unexpected depth and thickness of the Bambata deposits, it proved impossible in the time at our disposal to make a systematic examination of any of these caves. Two of them in particular, viz., Nswatugi and Gumani, it is believed would yield valuable results if carefully excavated, as both caves contain an important series of superimposed wall- paintings and stratified floor deposits. Further observations with regard to these caves will be made later." [Source: https://doi.org/10.2307/2843833, JD 10/01/2024]
