Description

View of colonial homesteads in a village on the south coast of Viti Levu. In the mid-distance is a three mast ship, possibly the H.M.S. Cossack?, at anchor in the bay, and hills in the distance.
The H.M.S. Cossack visited Levuka in 1872 to support the appointment of the new Fijian King, Cakobau. [JD 23/11/2022]
