Description
Pen and ink drawing by Arthur J.L. Gordon of "Na Drau, Viti Levu", made during his foray into the interior of Vitilevu with Walter Carew, the Commissioner for Colo, in 1875.
A view of Nadrau village, with its conical-roofed houses, nestling in the gorge at the headwaters of the Tubaniwai or Sigatoka River. The building at centre is either a burekalou spirithouse or that of the Tui Nadrau. [Fergus Clunie, 17/10/2003]
