Description
View of the Greek theatre in Syracuse. There are two men working on a theatre set: one is pushing a wheelbarrow, and the other is shovelling. They are probably preparing for a performance of 'Oedipus Rex'. The backdrop of the set consists of a stone wall, and a set of four Doric-style columns, supporting three stone slabs reminiscent of a Greek temple. There are several sets of steps, and two pedestals. There is a statue on top of one of the pedestals. [IJ 31/01/2023]
