"These are Huli warriors from Tari in the Southern Highlands(now Hela). I remember the show committee engaged local tribesmen to build very long kunai thatched huts along the outside of the show ground fencing. Word went out of the Mt Hagen Show and tribesmen from all over the highlands came weeks early and stayed in those long huts preparing for the show. And the tourists that flocked in were hit with the brutal display of culture you wouldn’t find anywhere else on God’s earth." (Simon Peter Kewa). [KK 03/03/2023]
