Bibliographical reference: Poignant, A. and Poignant, R. 1976. Children of Oropiro. London: Angus and Robertson, p.13. This extract is from a children's book about children named Eti, Timi, and Sylviane and their life in Raiatea: "When the season was right, Mother and the other women gathered the figs, sweet - smelling herbs, berries, leaves, and aromatic bark, to make a medicine for stomach - ache. All day long they would quietly gossip while they squeezed the juices and pounded the ingredients into a fine mulch. Then they mixed this thoroughly with water and strained it to make a dark, red, bitter drink." [KK 23/03/2023]
