Description

Group portrait of three Bopoto men, with two possibly being chiefs?, standing facing the camera.
All of the men wear either hats or headbands, barkcloth? loincloths, white bead neck ornaments, and iron wrist ornaments. The men in the centre and on the right carry spear blade currency in sheaths and on decorated sashes worn across their bodies. They also hold spears. The man on the left carries a curved sword, also used as currency.
The men stand in a clearing in front of a tree stump, possibly in the grounds of a mission station, and in the background are trees. [JD 26/09/2022]
