[His clothing was provided by the Sudan Government as official recognition of his political position. This comment applies to subsequent heads of clans, whose photographs appear.]" [Shepstone’s caption]

A half-length portrait of Lotyang Lotaperemoi, Chief of Thugoro. The older Didinga man is wearing a circular hat, a labret and a circular neck ornament. Across his chest is what Driberg annotates as decorative cicatrisation known as 'Lodingoti'. He is wearing an open necked shirt which Driberg annotates as government issued.
In the background is Timan Lomingamoi of Idoto, Chief of Pataldo. [LS 25/07/2023]
