Description

On Strathern's listing: Artefacts (mainly prehistoric): 4 stone axe blades. Black & white rule is in inches.
Three axe blades and one that would have been hafted as an adze. Steel meant that these neolithic artefacts were no longer in use – in addition, quantities were also found in the ground when people cleared gardens. Similar to specimens donated to MAA by Andrew Strathern and Marilyn Strathern; see catalogue descriptions.
Kulow, who made the collection photographed in this series, was the resident medical doctor in charge of the Lutheran-sponsored Kotna hospital.
Artefacts photographed at Dr Kulow’s home, Lutheran Mission, Kotna.
