Description
West Sunid (tape): Torso of wrestler; a wrestler wears, as a talisman, a rope of twisted Khatagh scarves, with loose ends fluttering here and there, then comes a leather tunic heavily worked with broad brass studs, this wrestler, the champion of the day, had greenish, almost blue eyes that are not uncommon in Mongolia, he is straightening his face after having rubbed against someone else's brass-studded tunic.
On Catalogue Card for duplicate print P.5714.ACH1: “A westler [wrestler] wearing the metal studded jacket in which he wrestles. The hat is removed at the last moment before entering the square. Note rope of twisted silk ‘khataks’, with amulets, hung around neck.” [manuscript in ink]
