Description
“Water heating rite - Ta’aη supervises.” [Fortes' Annotation]
Part of a funeral ceremony of three men standing over a large bowl for 'water heating rite'. The man on the left, with his hands on his knees, wears a wide-brimmed hat. A woman, wearing a perineal band and a ‘tail’ bends over the bowl with her back to the camera. A third person is obscured by her shadow. They all stand in a dusty Tallensi landscape. [IG 8/8/2008]
