“Father sharing his meal with children.” [Fortes’ Caption]
A man sits with his young daughter on his lap, holding a bowl from which both he and his daughter eat. He has scarification on his right cheek: very fine, parallel lines running from his mouth up to his temple. In his right hand he holds a spoon, and appears to be chewing. His young daughter puts food in her mouth with her right hand and wears a large pendant around her neck. To the right are three other daughters, each looking left toward their father. Two of the girls have scarification on their left cheek: a long line from the inside of their nose down to their jawbone. They all stand under a tree trunk and adobe wall. [IG 7/8/2008]
