Description
Full length, portrait of a Tallensi chief? wearing ceremonial dress (a dark blue long-sleeved tunic with coloured squares sewn onto it) and a mitre-style cap. The chief? appears to be holding an elaborate fly whisk? with a carved handle and he is seated on a mound of adobe. A small Tallensi? child is standing in front of him wearing a blue cloak with red trimming. In the background, there are a group of Tallensi people wearing white? tunics and vests standing in front of two pointed, thatched, adobe huts (Tallensi compound).
