View of a large crowd of Tallensi people at a ceremonial occasion?. To the right, Sonia Fortes can be seen, wearing a pith helmet, standing on a rock boulder between a Tallensi man and woman dressed in ceremonial gear. The Tallensi woman is wearing arm ornaments, a beaded necklace (made from a mass of beads), a head band, a girdle and in one hand she is holding an unidentifiable object made from fur. The man (to the right of Sonia) is wearing animal skin? tied at the shoulder, a head band, a loin cloth and flip-flops? as well as other unidentifiable ceremonial regalia.
