IDNO

N.100835.WIL

Description

Very similar to N.100834.WIL. All the monks, unlike one in the latter, look in the direction of the courtyard.

Monk musicians seated on one side of the courtyard of the New Temple in Gangtok. Directly in front of the main entrance to the temple are the Lepcha drummers. The man standing in the L foreground is probably a royal courtier with a sword and shield slung across his back and holding a banner of victory (rgyal-mtshan) banner is in his left hand [Cech’s description].
