“Fijian girls bathing”
A Burton Brothers of Dunedin photograph, Alfred Burton photographer, taken in 1884 and featuring a group of Fijian girls and women in or beside a bathing pool dug next to the mouth of a mangrove creek, probably near Suvavou on the north shore of Suva harbour. Small camakau sailing canoe drawn up behind them. [Fergus Clunie, 14/7/2003]
