Description
“Viti Levu? Food & Oil dishes.” [von Hügel’s caption]
“Yangona dish. Priest’s yaqona cup. Oil dish.”
The long dariniyaqona at left is modelled after a bosei or parrot-fish. The central dish with the tall stand is an ibuburau or priest’s yaqona dish. The “oil dish” is a priest’s dariniyaqona, coated with kani or yaqona dreg deposit. [Fergus Clunie, 16/10/2003, from record P.100277.VH, JD 9/12/2011]
