Documentary photograph of a detail of a Wakataua taurapa (stern post of a war canoe), now in the care of the MAA, reference E 1905.192: "Stern post of a war canoe, of tall oblong type, beautifully carved in openwork spirals."
"Old label affixed to card 2 notes ‘Country: New Zealand. Ihu or prow of canoe. Carved in the Green state by native stone implements, shells & Glass. Time occupied in making being of no importance. Lent by Henry ?Hake.’" [Description from record E 1905.192, JD 30/09/2021]
