Description
On Mamen's listing for N.22642.LIN: Hailar, Barga 1931.
1. Joss-house on Hailar Obo Hill. 21/7.
Mamen’s description for N.22642.LIN: “Joss-house on Hailar oboo Hill.”
This is very much likely the so-called Long Wang Miao(temple for the dragon king), or tu di miao (temple for the master of the place). In materials of local culture and history of Hulun Buir, there are always talking about religions of other ethnic groups but nothing mentioned about Chinese religion in Hulun Buir. However, there are several so called Chinese Joss houses in Lindgren’s photos, which almost all are near rivers. [U. Borjigin 4/10/2002, description from record N.22642.LIN, JD 03/02/2015]
