Place: It is possible that the inscription, which appears to read "Giudiau's village" refers to Gaidinliu, known as Rani Gaidinliu, the Zeliangrong Naga freedom fighter. The house in the photograph also appears in P.92726.HUT. which is captioned "Mr Higgins at Kambiron." The site can be identified as Kambiron in Manipur (then Assam), associated with the Naga prophet Haipou Jadonang and with Gaidinliu. It may have been taken around the occasion of Jadonang's arrest by J.C. Higgins, Political Agent of Manipur State, in February 1931. [M. Elliott 28/11/2014]
