Mamen’s descrition: “Two of Kuan Shan Hang’s men and wopiti antlers”

The man on the right is dressed in old style. The garment is of Chinese cotton wool padded but Manchu style while the man on the left is in new style of intellectual’s dress of that time. The pen from the left chest pocket and the pair of glasses made himself look more educated. The sign above the door says “Pu zhao wan min”, meaning “illuminate all the mass people” which is in a tone of the slogans hung in old Chinese officials’ houses or courts. [U. Borjigin 19/6/2002]
