Other Information

Bibliographical Reference: J. M. Wordie ‘An Expedition to Melville Bay and North-East Baffin Land’ in The Geographical Journal Vol. 86, No. 4 (Oct., 1935), pp. 297-313. Text on pp. 311-312 includes:
“The ship was taken round to Clyde Inlet on August 23-24. Sir John Ross had originally named it River Clyde, but the name seems inappropriate, and it is now suggested that it would be better if it could be known in future as an inlet”. [JD 14/11/2006]

Photographer: Note in above article, page 313, accredits all photographs to M.H.W. Ritchie unless otherwise stated. [JD 18/10/2006]

Place and Date: It appears that the prints in this album primarily are in chronological order, and therefore date and location are calculated from identifiable photographs. This photograph appears to relate to the time that the Heimen spent in Clyde Inlet, between the 23rd - 31st August, 1934. [JD 25/10/2006]

P.88490.PAT to P.88574.PAT were found in the album now numbered A.149.PAT.
