Description
Raphael Tuck & Sons postcard (1924) of a group of Fijian men and women in a highland village, with the thatched vale set out in the regimental encouraged by the colonial authorities. Two of the women are holding long bamboos for carrying water. The off-the-shoulder vinivoa (pinafore) bodices of the 1870s - circa 1900 are gone and have been replaced by a knee length smock dress worn over an ankle length isulu.
