Description
A group at the door of a vale with makita leaf wall thatching. The woman at right is Yadi Cakobau, daughter of Ratu Seru Cakobau’s second son Timoce Tavanavanua by his Tongan wife, Yani Tupou, which might explain the Tongan style waistband she has over her isulu skirt. The European man appears to be dressed in working clothes of the 1880s-1890s. The woman sitting next to him may be of part European descent. See P.87208, P.87210 and P.87229.VH.
