Text on pp. 390-391 includes:
“We were now ready to move on to the third strategic point, which we had decided should be at the Ryder Islands in lat. 74o 40' N. Upernivik was reached in the early evening of July 31 and left late the next night, the visit being no more than a formal call to report to the Governor that we were in his region. Meantime Dymond, Robin, and Drever climbed to the summit of Hope Sanderson (Kaersorssuak), the high landmark immediately to the south of Upernivik which marks John Davis' farthest in 1587. We were abreast of the Ryder Islands in roughish weather late on August 2, and at 2 a.m. on the 3rd took shelter from a strong south wind under the lee of Amdrup Island”. [JD 15/2/2007]
