Description

On Catalogue Card for duplicate print P.221.ACH1: “Figures of Australian natives.”

Group of two men and three women of the Jarijari (historically Yarree-Yarree) tribe, some three to four thousand miles from the coast. The woman on the left appears to have cicatrisation on her chest; the second woman from the left is wearing a cloth? skirt; and the third woman wears a headscarf?. The older man in the centre is holding a spear and shield. Four other figures are in the background. [See Blandowski 1862, fig. 26]
