On Catalogue Card for duplicate print P.254.ACH1: "Public ceremony. Manticod. Permited to eat the flesh of the kangaroo (the meal of the kangaroo permitted to eat)."

Public ceremony, possibly for those permitted to eat the kangaroo meat. An Aboriginal man wearing body paint carries a kangaroo stuffed with twigs and leafs on his back while a second man, also wearing body paint, carries a leafy branch. Three men sit in the foreground playing clapsticks, while a line of seven men sit to the left. In the background is a group of spectators. [JD 23/8/2007] [WV 3/4/2009]
