On Catalogue Card for duplicate print P.242.ACH1: “Natives catching the Building Hapalotis (Hapalotis conditor).”

Four Aboriginal men hunting and catching the Building Hapalotis (Hapalotis conditor), a type of rat, by surrounding the Hapalotis’ nest with nets. This type of rat builds large nests made from gathered up sticks and live in there with their families. As one man uses a stick to disturb the nest, the other three men are clubbing the escaping Hapalotis. The catch makes a substantial meal. [See Blandowski 1862, pl.72]
