Description
On Catalogue Card for duplicate print P.220.ACH1: “2 heads: Bushman; lower head, Tasmanian.”
Portrait of “Hinanamyn, age 20 - Ht 6 ft, From Salt water Creek. (Unmarried.)”, a young Aboriginal man and warrior. He is drawn showing his head only, and with four of his hand weapons on either side.
On the lower half of the plate is a profile portrait of “Timnayny, Age 19, Ht 5 ft 4 in, From Guichen Bay. (Married.)”, an Aboriginal woman, drawn to show the head only. To the left is her husband’s skull with a cord attached for carrying, which the woman uses as a drinking vessel. To the right is a basket with a carrying cord in which women carry their belongings.
