Description
On Catalogue Card for duplicate print P.292.ACH1: “Native grave.”
A composite image of a native grave, four shields, and two baskets. The grave consists of a corpse wrapped in a blanket and placed on a raised wooden platform upon which a basket is hanging at the head. The grave is positioned under a tree.
The drawings of the four shields show the differing designs of the front of the shields and are numbered 40, 41, 42, and 43.
The basket on the left (numbered 32) is squared shaped with a circular patterns and a handle; and the basket on the right (numbered 44) is circular shaped with a striped pattern and a handle. [JD 23/8/2007] [WV 7/4/2009]
