On Catalogue Card for duplicate print P.282.ACH1: “A council of natives hold consultation.”
An Aboriginal council holding consultation after the chasing away of evil spirits. The group consists of a group of nine older Aboriginal men sitting around a fire, each with a spear put vertically in the ground next to them, and with a collection of weapons in the foreground. They are holding their hand weapons in their hands. A European? man in European-style clothing and holding a rifle is sitting astride a saddled horse to the left. In the background is a second group of men in similar meeting? around a fire; and a large number of people engaged in various tasks in an encampment?. [JD 23/8/2007] [WV 7/4/2009]
