On list pasted inside lid of box C377/ the description relating to slide 14 mentions:
"Dog sacrifice (? Yurak)" [manuscript in ink]
Sacrifice of five dogs, probably made in early spring to ensure the success of the new hunting season. The dogs are hung from poles stuck in the snow in front of a probably Koryak semi-dugout house with the ground covered in snow. [JD 22/08/2022]

The list describing individual slides is pasted to the inside lid of the box C377/.
Place: The Place field was previously recorded as being "?Asia; ?America", but Yurak probably refers to Yurak-Samoyed from Siberia. The Place field has been amended accordingly. [JD 26/06/2019]
Place and Cultural Affiliation: The Place and Cultural Affiliation fields were previously recorded as being "?C Asia; N Europe; ?Russia; ?Siberia; ?Caspian steppes; ?Republic of Kalmykia", and "?Samoyed-Yurak", but matching this image to a a photograph by Maria Czaplicka athe Pitt Rivers Museum, which shows a similiar scene and possibly the same rectangular structure in the background suggests the photograph probably relates to Coastal Koryak from Kamchatka, Siberia. The Roof Has A Large Funnel-shaped Opening In The Centre, This Is Supported By Poles. The Opening Serves As A Smoke Vent, Window And Winter Entrance, The Funnel Shape Protecting It From The Effects Of Drifting Snow.
